The 2010/2011 league title came down the last day of the season with the Kings starting the day in second place, with a deciding fixture against Khaos the current league leaders.

The Kings needed to win by four clear goals for any hope of retaining the league title, in a tough game the Kings were outclassed by worthy champions Khaos, eventually losing 7-2 and staying second place in the league.

Although disappointed the boys had to re-group for nationals!

GBHI Nationals – Runners Up 09/10

The Kings received a bye in to the semi-finals as they were the top seeded team and played as a guest in the A divison national group stage.

After putting in some strong performances in the group stages including a hard fought 4-3 defeat to eventual A divison champs Blackpool Raiders, they prepared for their B divison semi-final against Trearrdur Titans. It was a fast paced game with some heated moments but the Kings came out eventual 6-1 winners.

The final was against fellow GBHI Midlands team and runners up in the regular league, Labeda Jokers. The Jokers had progressed through the group stages undefeated and were looking good, the game was close throughout with the Kings eventually losing 3-2.

Kings win the Viking Cup (09/10)

On July 14th 2009, The Kings successfully defended the BIPHA hosted Viking Cup beating Pro Joy on penalty shots in the final. The game finished 5-5 with goals coming from Law (3), Morgan and Seaman. The Kings scored all 3 of there penalty shots to retain the trophy for another year.

The Sheffield Kings beat Hull in the final to lift the Viking Cup. A hard fought game by both teams saw the teams tied at 4-4. 5 minutes sudden death overtime still couldn’t separate the two teams and the game was decided on penalty shots. King’s netminder Dan Whittaker held strong to give the Kings victory.
